About the workshop

In this workshop, we will debunk any notions that middle school social studies is not the time or place to teach about climate change. Climate change and creative solutions reside in the social. TIME! We will look at how change across time helps us understand where we are today. We will gaze into futurisms. PLACE! We will look at how studying places and movement are essential to understanding where we are today and how we are empowered to help youth create different futures. We will look at middle school social studies standards and insert questions and activities. We will engage with particular activities that connect past, present, and future.
