About the workshop

This workshop aims to provide participants with practical strategies for incorporating standards-based mathematics into lessons on climate change. Participants are encouraged to incorporate themes and phenomena explored during the summer institute. This workshop will focus on observing NYC-specific data, such as the air purity index and the distribution of trees in different zip codes. The goal is to foster an appreciation of the power of mathematics to help understand environmental patterns, while also fostering environmental awareness among students through the integration of mathematics, climate change, and real-world data.
